The College Services section defines those services that are available to students.  LCC strives to anticipate the needs of students and meet those needs in an organized manner.  The services are listed alphabetically.

ADMISSIONS

The Director of Admissions and an Adviser/Recruiter are available on the second floor of the Student Union to assist students who are new enrollees and for others who have not declared a concentration.  These individuals will assist in the selection of a degree objective, selection of courses, and Add/Drop Forms.  For information, call (620) 421-6700, ext. 1225 or 1228.

Faculty advisers are available for those students who have made a career choice.  These students should contact, through the Admissions Office, the person best suited for directing them toward their chosen goal.  The adviser or appropriate Associate Dean must approve and sign each enrollment of the student.

LIBRARY

The Library, located on the first floor of the Main Building, is open to all students and the community and provides an excellent place to study and do research.  It houses a collection of approximately 27,000 volumes and 72 current periodicals.  Technology continues to enhance the services provided.  Currently, the Library offers six online periodical databases, an automated interlibrary loan program, and an automated and Web based card catalog.  Email reference assistance, as well as many other Web based sources, are available from the Library Website, http://www.labette.edu/library.

Adequate parking is available for students.  Six private parking lots on the main campus are provided:  (1) immediately north of the Student Union; (2) west of the residence halls; (3) west of the Multi-Purpose Building; (4) north of the residence halls; (5) east of the Continuing Education Building; and (6) north of the Fine Arts Building.  There is also curb parking around the campus.  Students are expected to park properly and to respect parking signs, other vehicles, and pedestrians at all times.  Improper parking may result in a fine from the College.  Fines are to be paid in the Business Office.

STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES/HEALTH INSURANCE

Each student is responsible for his/her own health insurance.  The College neither endorses nor participates in such programs for the general student population, nor does the College provide a student health service.  Student health insurance information and applications are available in the Student Services Office.

STUDENT HOUSING

The College operates the co-ed residence housing located at the corner of 13th and Broadway.  There is space available for 16 residents.  Anyone interested in the living centers should contact the Student Life Coordinator located on the second floor of the Student Union.
