EC 2241	Macroeconomics		3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite:		None
Introduces the student to the principles of macroeconomics. It will lead the student through the workings of an economic system - with major emphasis on the United States economic system. The course will cover topics such as supply and demand relationships on a national scale, the relationship between economic activity with the money and banking system, unemployment, inflation, productivity, distribution of income, and economic growth.
EC 2242	Microeconomics		3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite:		None
Introduces the student to the principles of microeconomics. It will concentrate on matter of individual decision making. The course will cover such topics as consumer choice, supply and demand relationships in markets, the theory of the firm within perfect competition, monopoly, monopolistic competition, and oligopoly market structures, labor unions, labor legislation, anti-trust policies, and international trade.
EC 2249	Issues in Today’s Economy		3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite:		None
Issues in Today’s Economy is designed to be a practical guide to the economy for non-concentrations. The course emphasizes important current issues in both the macro and microeconomy such as inflation and unemployment, national defense, taxes and deficits, discrimination, pollution, welfare, and the global economy.
