American Government

A general, systematic study of the development and structure of the American national government, with emphasis on the actual workings.  Serves as a foundation for other political science courses.

State and Local Government

3 Credit Hours

Prerequisite:

None

Analysis of state, county, and municipal government’s role in Kansas since 1960.  Characteristics of local government with emphasis on the office of commissioner-councilman, and mayor-manager, as well as county officers.  Analysis of the relationship between executive, legislative, judicial, and bureaucratic function of the state and people, interest groups, and local government.
