Jonathan Raney
Head Coach
Jonathan
Raney enters his first season as head coach of the Labette Community
College men’s basketball program. Prior to Labette he served as Graduate
Assistant Coach at Fort Hays State University under 2009-2010 MIAA Coach of
the year Mark Johnson. In two seasons at Fort Hays, Raney helped lead the
Tigers to a 49-14 record, consecutive NCAA Division II Basketball
Tournament appearances, and a MIAA Tournament Championship. He coached
numerous All-MIAA players, a defensive player of the year, and a NCAA Division
II All-American.
In
2006-07, Raney was the assistant coach at Cowley County Community College
in Arkansas City, Kan. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at Hill
Junior College in Hillsboro, Texas. Raney spent time as a student assistant
at Fort Hays State during the 2003-04 season.
Raney
played at Fort Hays State University from 2001 to 2003. He earned All-RMAC
Honorable Mention honors in 2002-03 as a senior. He ranks fifth all-time at
FHSU for career three-point field goal percentage (.433) and 10th in career
three-point field goals made. Prior to FHSU, Raney played two years at
Cowley from 1999 to 2001, winning a Jayhawk Conference championship as a
freshman.
Raney
earned his bachelor’s degree in Information Networking and
Telecommunications from Fort Hays State in 2004. He completed his master’s
degree in Sports Administration at FHSU in May. The Lawrence, Kan., native
is married to the former Fernanda Domingos. They celebrated the birth of
their son, Jackson, in the fall of 2009.

Erik Pastrana

Erik Pastrana returns to Kansas where he last
served as Graduate Assistant at Kansas State University from 2007-2009
under Head Coach Frank Martin. During his two seasons, K-State reached 20+
wins in each season including appearances in the NCAA and NIT Tournament
while also finishing in the Top 4 of the Big 12 Conference in consecutive
seasons.
Coach Pastrana has worked with players such as
Michael Beasley (Minnesota Timberwolves), Bill Walker (New York
Knicks), Denis Clemente (1st Team All- Big 12) and Jacob Pullen (1st Team
All-American).
After K-State, he served as Assistant Coach at
Palm Beach State College in 2009-2010, and most recently coached the
Florida Rams AAU 17-Under in 2010 to a 7th Place finish at
Nationals. Pastrana earned his Bachelor of Arts in History at Florida State
University in 2007. He completed his Master of Science in Counseling and
Student Development at Kansas State University in 2009.

Nick Bradford

Nick
Bradford comes back to Kansas as an assistant coach at Labette Community
College. He recently completed an 8 year professional basketball career in
Europe. He has played in France, Iceland, Finland, England and Romania.
This past summer he was an assistant coach with the Kansas City Pump and
Run AAU basketball organization.
Bradford
is a Fayetteville, Arkansas native. He was a Parade All-American at
Fayetteville High School before attending the University of Kansas and
playing four years under Roy Williams. At KU he won 3 Big 12 tournament
titles as well as two Big 12 regular season crowns. Following his senior
year he was named Honorable Mention Big 12 by the Coaches and the MVP of
the 99-00 Jayhawk squad. After college, he played for the 2002 ABA champion
Kansas City Knights before going overseas for the rest of his career. Some
of his honors in Europe include 2005 MVP of the finals in Iceland, 2008
All-Import Team in France and 2009 Import Player of the Year in Iceland.
Nick
earned his Bachelor degree of General Studies in African &
African-American studies from the University of Kansas.
