Ryan Phillips
Head Softball Coach
Ryan Phillips enters his
seventh season as the head coach for the Labette Community
College softball program after a two year stint as the assistant
baseball coach at Labette. Phillips, a Native of Neosho,
MO., attended Neosho High School where he earned an
All-Conference selections in numerous sports. He played
two years at Labette as a starting pitcher and finished his
career at Shorter University
in Rome, GA. Phillips was nominated to the Jayhawk East
All-Star team in 2001. Labette softball has made immense
strides in the six year stint under coach Phillips, with the
last four season being the best records in the Labette softball
programs history; with a 46-14 record along with a KJCCC
Conference Championship, a NJCAA
Region VI District D Championship, and the schools first ever
appearance at the NJCAA National Championship in 2011. "We
had a great season. The sophomores from this years team
took over and lead this team in the right direction. We as
a team look forward to an exciting 2012 season with 7 returning
starters." Under Coach Phillips the Labette Lady Cardinal
softball team has had 1 All-American (Chelsey Rottinghaus-
2011), 31 All-Conference/All-Region players, 19 Academic
All-Americans, 12 Distinguished Academic All-Americans, and 3
Team Academic All-American Honors. "I tell these young
ladies that come to Labette
that this is not
only a place to play softball but we will ensure that they are
positive contributors to society by respectfulness and hard
work. This includes in the classroom, in society, and on
the field."
Coach Phillips earned his Bachelor of
Science degree from Pittsburg State University in 2005.
Coach Phillips resides in Parsons with his wife, Leigh Ann and
their three children, Brady (8), Zavier (5) and Jayleigh (1).

Kae Lani Bryan
Assistant Softball Coach
Kae Lani Bryan joins the Labette
Lady Cardinal Softball program in her first season. Bryan is a
former resident of Picher, OK. She attended Picher High School
receiving numerous honors in softball and basketball.
All-Conference honors in (2002,2003,2004,2005) and,
All-Conference MVP (2004,2005). Bryan was named to the Oklahoma
Coaches Association All-State Softball Team in 2005. She played
softball two years at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and
helped lead the Lady Norse to two consecutive National
Tournament trips, finishing 4th in 2006-2007 season.
She is currently working on her
Bachelors degree at Pittsburgh State in Physical Education.
Bryan resides in Parsons, KS. She is the daughter of Dale &
Debbie Bryan.
