Ryan Phillips
Head Softball Coach

Ryan Phillips enters his eighth season as the head coach for the Labette Community College softball program after a two year stint as the assistant baseball coach at Labette.  Phillips, a Native of Neosho, MO., attended Neosho High School where he earned an All-Conference selections in numerous sports.  He played two years at Labette as a starting pitcher and finished his career at Shorter University in Rome, GA.  Phillips was nominated to the Jayhawk East All-Star team in 2001.  Labette softball has made immense strides in the seven year stint under coach Phillips, with the last four season being the best records in the Labette softball programs history;  with a 147-83 record along with a 2011 KJCCC Conference Championship, a NJCAA Region VI District D Championship, and the schools first ever appearance at the NJCAA National Championship in 2011.  Under Coach Phillips the Labette Lady Cardinal softball team has had 1 All-American, 50 All-Conference/All-Region players, 25 Academic All-Americans, 14 Distinguished Academic All-Americans, and 4 Team Academic All-American Honors.  "these young ladies come to Labette not only to play softball but to ensure they receive a good education, and our coaching staff will make sure that each of our young ladies will be positive contributors to society by being respectful and have a great work ethic.  This includes in the classroom, in society, and on the field." 

Coach Phillips earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Pittsburg State University in 2005.  Coach Phillips resides in Parsons with his wife, Leigh Ann and their three children, Brady (11), Zavier (8) and Jayleigh (3).

Kae Lani Bryan

Assistant Softball Coach

Kae Lani Bryan joins the Labette Lady Cardinal Softball program in her second season.  Bryan is a former resident of Picher, OK. She attended Picher High School receiving numerous honors in softball and basketball. All-Conference honors in (2002,2003,2004,2005) and, All-Conference MVP (2004,2005). Bryan was named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Softball Team in 2005. She played softball  two years at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and helped lead the Lady Norse to two consecutive National Tournament trips, finishing 4th in 2006-2007 season.

She is currently working on her Bachelors degree at Pittsburg State in Physical Education. Bryan resides in Parsons, KS. She is the daughter of Dale & Debbie Bryan.

Kala White
Student Assistant Softball Coach

Kala White enters her third season as a student assistant coach following an outstanding playing career for Labette. She works mainly with outfielders, slappers, situational base running, and recruiting.
A member of the 2012 sophomore class White started over 100 games in left field during her career. During that time she hit .286 with 28 RBI, 35 runs scored, and 24 stolen bases. As a freshman she helped the Lady Cardinals to the program's first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference and Region IV Championships and appearance at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament, where the team finished in the top eight. She was then named second team All-KJCCC as a sophomore.
A four-year starter for Claremore High School, White was twice named All-Conference and received All-Region honors as a senior. She helped the Lady Zebras to a 2008 District Championship and was also a part of the 2006 Class 5A State Qualifying team.  She also participated in competitive cheerleading and track and field during her prep years.
White received her Associates degree in Elementary Education from LCC in 2012 and is currently working toward her Bachelor's in Physical Education and Psychology at Pittsburg State University with expectations to graduate in the winter of 2015. She was also a member of the PSU cheerleading squad that qualified for the UCA National Competition in 2013. Originally from Claremore, Ok she is the daughter of Tim and Ruth Anne White and currently resides in Parsons.
