Nimz is entering her second season at LCC after a 6th
place finish in the Jayhawk East Conference.
Although the season had its difficulties, the girls were
able to do some very good things. The Ladies were
picked to finish in the 8th seed, but superseded those
expectations by finishing two spots ahead in 6th place.
Just one year ago, Nimz finished up a
two-year stint as an assistant coach at Pittsburg State
where she helped lead the Gorillas to a 34-23 record in
that time, including a 20-9 record in 2008-09.
As an assistant for the Gorillas, Nimz' duties include
coordinating opponent scouting, organizing travel and
monitoring academic progress. She also assisted with
preseason conditioning and on-floor coaching,
specifically with the Gorilla guards.
During both her playing and coaching career at PSU, she
achieved Dean's Scholastic honors and was named Graduate
Student of the Year in the Health, Human Performance and
Recreation Department. Other awards include the Teacher
of Promise in the Education Department, Student Major of
the Year in the Recreation Department and Outstanding
Student Athlete of the Year by the Athletic Department.
