What is the Reading COMPASS test?
This is a computerized test given
in the Student Success Center on the LCC campus.
If you have already taken this test at LCC, we should be able to access
your scores and you will not need to repeat it. There is no cost
associated with the COMPASS test. You should allow 40-60 minutes to take the
test. You may take the test any time during operating hours of the Student
Success Center. Students are given reading comprehension passages and asked
multiple-choice questions regarding comprehension and vocabulary. If you have taken Reading
COMPASS at another institution, you need to submit your scores or retake the
test unless you have taken the ACT.
What
if I've taken the ACT?
If
you have an ACT score of > 18 in Reading, you are exempt from this
test but need to submit your ACT scores.
