The Labette Community College Foundation announced that the
“Pathways to the Future” Capital Campaign goal of $10,480,426 has
been met. The projects for the campaign are constructing a new
Health Science Building, increasing scholarship endowment, and
funding deferred maintenance projects.
The “Pathways to the Future” Capital Campaign began in January 2008.
Over 375 alumni, friends, businesses, and organizations have
contributed to the campaign. “On behalf of the Board of Trustees,
the campaign committee, and the Labette Community College
Foundation, I would like to express my deepest, heartfelt gratitude
to all of our donors and to the members of the community who have
worked so diligently to help achieve this unprecedented milestone in
our College’s history,” said Dr. George C. Knox, President of LCC.
“While our official goal has been met, the campaign will continue to
accept donations, to support our ongoing efforts to create one of
the finest healthcare education facilities in the country.”
The fundraising deadline for the campaign was set forth by the
Kresge Foundation $1 million Challenge Grant, which required the LCC
Foundation to raise the total campaign goal by May 31, 2012. The
Kresge Foundation is among one of the world’s largest private
foundations. LCC is one of the first community colleges to be
awarded funding through their institution.
