Nursing Club Hosting “Run for Autism”
Labette
Community College Nursing Club will be hosting its first annual 5K and 1 mile
fun walk in benefit of autism on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 at 9:00
a.m. This event will be held at LCC in Parsons, KS. The registration fee is $20
and must be turned in by April 20th to guarantee a t-shirt on the
day of the race. A registration form must be filled out and are available
online at
www.labette.edu under “News”
entitled “Autism 5k.”
Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a range of complex neurodevelopment disorders,
characterized by social impairments, communication difficulties, and
restricted, repetitive, and stereotyped patterns of behavior. The proceeds for
the benefit run will go to Parsons State Hospital and Training Center to
benefit Autism. The event is divided into age groups and is setup female/ male,
under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Medals will be awarded to
winners in each age division.
