Scotty Zollars selected to attend regional Library Leadership Institute

 

Parsons, Kansas - Scotty Zollars, Director of Library Services at Labette Community College, was recently selected to attend the Mountain Plains Library Association (MPLA) 2012 Leadership Institute.  Only 30 were chosen to attend from over 60 applicants in 12 states.  

Zollars came to LCC in July of 2000. He has been working in academic libraries since 1990. Before that he was a K-12 Librarian in Arkansas and has also set up two different church libraries. He has been working in libraries since he was 12. His first job was dusting books at the Moline Public Library in Moline, Kansas.

The Institute will be in Estes Park, Colorado, May 6-11, 2012.  Institute facilitator is Maureen Sullivan, President-Elect of the American Library Association.

The Mountain Plains Library Association is a twelve state association of librarians, library paraprofessionals and friends of libraries in Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. Its purpose is to promote the development of librarians and libraries by providing significant educational and networking opportunities.
