LCC PTK Chapter Wins National Awards
The Tau Theta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Labette Community College returned from the International Convention in Philadelphia. PTK is the national honor society for the two year college.
The Tau Theta chapter received the Distinguished Chapter Award, one of the top 25 chapters out of over 1,200 chapters internationally. This is the second year in a row the LCC chapter has received this distinction. Tau Theta was also the only chapter in Kansas to receive the Leadership Hallmark Award , which is awarded to the top 25 chapters in the area of leadership.
The Distinguished Administrator Award, was given to Dr. Wayne Hatcher, LCC Vice President of Student Services, received this award for his support of Phi Theta Kappa and student organizations.
For the 6th consecutive year, the LCC PTK chapter received the Top 100 Chapter. Tau Theta also received the Kansas Region Service Hallmark. Caitlin Eck also earned a Distinguished Chapter President Honorable Mention Award for the Kansas Region.
