LCC Offers Medical Transcription Courses
Labette Community College offers many courses and degrees within the medical field.
Students earning a Medical Transcription Certificate can complete the needed credit hours in as little at one year. Medical transcriptionists listen to dictated recordings made by physicians and other health care professionals and transcribe them into medical reports.
Upon completion of the certificate, students may find employment in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and some work from home. Students interested in Medical Transcription can take LCC courses on campus, online, during the day or evening.
Many of the Medical Transcription and Medical coding courses are taught by Labette Health employees, Kristen Rossman, RHIT; Leia Hucke, CCS-P; Gina Bowman, RHIA, CCS; and Debbie Gatton, RHIT, CCS.
For more information about LCC’s Medical Transcription certificate, contact Lucille McCune at 620-421-6700 ext. 1187.
