Lady Cardinals Win Two Big Victories

 

The Labette Community College Lady Cardinal Basketball team pulled two major upsets last weekend in the Seward County Pizza-Hut Classic to secure a spot in the National ratings and polls. 

 

Friday, December 7th they defeated Dodge City Community College by a score of 80-47.  On Saturday night the Lady Cardinals beat the #1 team in the nation, Seward County, by a score of 70-60. 

 

“We could not have focused on our task at hand if it wasn’t for everyone helping us pick-up and put together our study guides, final packets, and last minute homework assignment before leaving for the tournament.  The young ladies and I appreciate everyone’s support,” said head coach Jaime Green. 

 

The men’s and women’s basketball teams will resume play on January 5^th at 2:00 pm, opening at home versus Highland Community College to begin Conference play.  For a complete schedule of games, go to www.labette.edu, click on Athletics.
