LCC Business Development Series Begins in March

Labette Community College will be holding a Business Development Series for businesses small and large this Spring. The purpose behind this series is to help the businesses in Parsons and the surrounding communities understand how to better themselves in today’s economy. Issues such as brand development, establishing workplace wellness programs, and the importance of human resources will be discussed during these luncheon learning sessions.

The first session will be March 2nd  with Dennis McCuistion of McCuistion & Associates. His Session Title is, “I’m Mad as Hell and I’m Not Going to Take it Anymore.” The registration fee for the session is $10 which includes lunch.

McCuistion is a former bank CEO who consults with financial institutions and other businesses on top management issues.  He facilitates strategic planning sessions, offers advice on director/CEO issues and serves on boards and audit committees of public and private companies. He is the author of The Prevention and Collection of Problem Loans, and co-author of Selling Strategies for Today’s Banker: a Survival Guide for Tomorrow and The Seven Challenges Facing Bankers in the Future…and How to Meet Them.

McCuistion is also the host and executive producer of the award winning McCUISTION television program on PBS, syndicated weekly throughout the U.S.  The McCUISTION Program provides an intellectually stimulating and objective forum of ideas, always “Talking About Things That Matter With People Who Care.”

The second session will be held March 30th with Frances Gorman Graves of Porch Swing Communications. Her session title is “Grow Your Business by Building Your Brand.” April’s date with Jonathon Unruh on “Establishing Workplace Wellness Programs” and May’s date with Sue Goldsmith, SPHR, on “Human Resources for Small Business” (focusing on Behavioral Interviewing Techniques) are both to be determined.

All sessions are scheduled from 11:30am-1pm.
