LCC Announces Cardinal Recognition Award Recipient for February 2010

 

Labette Community College is pleased to announce that Monique Johnson is the recipient of the February Cardinal Recognition Award. 

 

This award recognizes students at Labette Community College. These students are nominated by a faculty or staff member.  Students must have a 3.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average, completed 15 credit hours, and currently be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours. He/she must be in good standing with the college and be an officer in one student organization recognized by the Student Government Association. The student must also be a member of at least two student organizations or participation in an athletic team.  Students receiving this honor get a certificate, along with a $20 gift certificate to the bookstore or Cardinal Café. A new student is named each month.

 

Johnson is from Kansas City, KS. In addition to this honor, she was also recently selected as the 2010 Homecoming queen. She is a player on the women’s basketball team. Johnson is also a member of the honor society, Phi Theta Kappa. In addition to her academics and sports schedule, Johnson serves as a work study for the LCC library and baby-sits.

 

The library staff nominated her and noted that “Monique always goes out of her way to help other students if they have questions. Her cheerful attitude is a definite asset to the LCC Library Team as well as the Lady Cardinals.” Monique will graduate with her degree in Social Science in May and hopes to transfer to the University of Tampa.
