Labette Community College Annual Science Fair
The Labette Community College Science Fair Committee and Friends of the Science Fair announce the return of the Labette Community College Science Fair on Friday, February 29. The 9th-12th grade competition will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Kindergarten-8th grade competition will be from 3-9 p.m. Students may register projects from 3-5 p.m. Judging will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the students present at their projects to answer questions.
The public is invited to view the projects from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Following the tabulation of scores, an awards ceremony will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. Competition is open to home-schooled students, as well as any area students.
The Science Fair will take place in the main building and the annex on the Labette Community College campus. Students are to register on the second floor of the main building. During judging and tabulation of the scores, two films will be shown with discussion in Thiebaud Theatre: Infinite Secrets: The Genius of Archimedes and Black Holes: The Ultimate Abyss. The films are open to both the public and science fair participants.
