LCC Goes Red to Fight Heart Disease
On February 14th Labette Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Chapter will join the American Heart Association (AHA)’s fight against heart disease by holding Wear Red Day. Everyone is encouraged to wear red to work and donate $5 to help the AHA raise women’s awareness of cardiovascular disease and empower women to reduce their risk. Some businesses have also declared that participants will be entitled to wear jeans to work on Wear Red Day!
LCC and PTK are proud to join the AHA and concerned companies and organizations across America in the fight against the #1 killer of women – as well as men. Wear Red Day is a chance spread knowledge about this devastating disease and to raise funds that will help the AHA advance its research and education efforts.
For more information about how to participate in Wear Red Day, please contact Tammy Fuentez, 620-421-6700 ext. 1228.
