LCC Operation Excel Names March Student of the Month                                                     

                                                                                                                                                             

Ari Haviland has been named Operation Excel Student of the Month for March 2008.  Students of the Month must maintain at
least a 2.7 GPA, and use OE services such as workshops, tutoring, and counseling/transferring support.  Community service is also part of the selection criteria.

 

Haviland, a first generation student, is a sophomore history major and resident of Parsons.  LCC faculty and staff, as well as her family, have encouraged her to pursue a college education.  Haviland plans to finish her degree at LCC before transferring to PSU to complete a bachelor’s degree in history.  She hopes to also complete a master’s degree and pursue a teaching career.   Haviland is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa.     

 

Operation Excel (OE) is a federally funded Student Support Services TRIO Grant at Labette Community College (LCC).  Since 1990, this federal grant has helped over 3,000 students meet their educational goals.
