OE Names November Student of the Month

 

Operation Excel, a federally funded Student Support Service TRIO Grant at Labette Community College has named Diana Bryant Student of the Month for November. Since 1990 this federal grant has helped over 3,000 students meet their educational goals.

 

Students of the Month must maintain at least a 2.7 GPA, and use OE services such as workshops, tutoring, and counseling/transferring support. Community service is also part of the selection criteria.

 

Bryant, a sophomore majoring in nursing and resident of Dennis, will graduate next spring. She plans to transfer to Pittsburg State University and complete their master’s program for nursing. Bryant appreciates the “can-do” attitude of LCC staff, administration, and instructors. They have helped her find the resources she needed to stay in school.

 

She has played the piano and taught classes at church, volunteered with PTO and in her daughter’s classroom, planned a LCC recorder concert, and was invited to join PTK and volunteered with a couple of their activities.
