Debate Students to Travel to Sterling Tournament

Labette Community College began a new concentration area for the Communications program this fall. The concentration of Forensics and Debate provides opportunities for students to participate in intercollegiate competition with students from other community colleges and universities.

LCC Forensics and Debate students gain experience through classroom work as well as the intercollegiate competitions. They also develop strong research and communication skills, critical thinking and teamwork skills, and educational connections with other students.

Forensics and Debate instructor, TJ Lakin, will take LCC students to the tournament, “Debates on a Plain”, at Sterling College from September 28-30.

The tournament will have six rounds of NPDA/IPDA with outrounds held later in the weekend.
