All applicants (not in high school) who will be enrolled in six hours or more and have a degree or certificate objective, must complete the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), except international students. {Call x1236 for an appointment.} Labette Community College makes every effort to assist students to make their goals possible. By completing these two applications, all eligible students will be awarded a financial aid package to assist them with expenses of tuition and/or books as indicated by the award. THIS APPLICATION DOES NOT REPRESENT A FINANCIAL OFFER BY LABETTE COMMUNITY COLLEGE. The Financial Aid Office will notify the student as to whether or not the request has been approved.
APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED WITHIN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF EACH SEMESTER, with those received by April 1 for the Fall and November 15 for Spring-only receiving preference.
Your signature represents permission for LCC to use your name &/or visual representation in its publications, press releases and advertising. If public school student, signature also represents permission to release grades and attendance data to public school officials.
Any false or misleading information will cancel the award and subject applicant to disciplinary action by the respective institution, including permanent dismissal.

All awards are subject to availability of funds. (Although some students may qualify for a specific type of assistance, funds may not be available.) Some courses may not qualify for financial assistance. Students are encouraged to apply by April 1st for Fall and November 15th for Spring-only.
NOTE:
All applicants must process a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to issuance of any financial assistance, including scholarships, except High School Students and International students.
Tuition refers only to instate tuition rates - which at this time is $42.00 per credit hour.
Fees are not covered by scholarships - which at this time is $29.00 per credit hour.
ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS:
Who may apply: High school seniors may apply for an academic scholarship to be used the coming academic year following high school graduation, with renewal pending performance & availability of funds.
GPA (based on 7 semesters) Amount (up to 16 credit hours)
3.75-4.00 Tuition plus $200 books per semester = Presidential Award
3.50-3.74 Tuition plus $100 books per semester = Dean's Award
3.00-3.49 Tuition plus $50 books per semester = Merit Award
Student must be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours by June 15th prior to fall semester and December 15th for Spring semester to validate acceptance. Allied Health students should check with their appropriate director. Students who withdraw to less than 12 credit hours will be ineligible for the next renewal period.
Reapplication (assistance may be renewed as long as funds are available):
Must submit application by April 1st of Freshmen year.
Must be enrolled in 15 hours for fall semester of Sophomore year by June 15th.
Must maintain required grade point average (cumulative).
JUMPSTART (CONCURRENT)/DUAL CREDIT ENROLLMENT ASSISTANCE
High school students who are eligible to enroll may receive assistance w/properly completed Student Financial Assistance/Scholarship Application. Attendance must be approved by a high school official. Fees and books are not covered by LCC.
Students attending Labette County high schools are eligible to receive full tuition up to 16 hours per semester if they meet the required 2.0 GPA.
Cherokee County and Crawford county high school students will receive up to 9 hours of paid tuition per semester, if they meet the required 2.5 GPA requirement.
Students attending high schools in other Kansas counties may receive assistance/scholarship of half tuition for up to 6 hours per semester w/GPA of 2.5 or above including online courses.
ACTIVITY ASSISTANCE
This assistance is awarded per semester or academic year for performance (i.e., baseball, graphic design, wrestling, commercial music, cheerleading, softball, music, volleyball, dance team, basketball, leadership, fine arts, etc.). Criteria & length of scholarship are established by the coaches &/or instructors of each activity.
FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
Many Foundation scholarships from private and corporate donors are available and awarded according to applicant qualifications and funding availability. Early application is encouraged.
GENERAL ASSISTANCE
For non-Labette County residents, including GED & Nontraditional students. Students must meet the following characteristics to be considered for aid, if funds are available: enrolled and have at least an LCC GPA of 2.0 and demonstrate financial need via FAFSA application. (GED & Nontraditional students are not required to meet the 2.0 GPA for the first year.) Nontraditional refers to students 25 yeas or older.
INTERNATIONAL ASSISTANCE
Awarded to international students (funds permitting) who have and maintain a cumulative LCC GPA of 3.0. The scholarship shall not exceed the instate rate of tuition for 16 hours per semester.
LABETTE COUNTY ASSISTANCE
Residents of Labette County are eligible to receive full tuition up to 16 credit hours per semester at LCC. For renewal, must have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA and reapply. Some exceptions for the aid do apply. Athletes are not eligible for this scholarship.
TRANSFER ASSISTANCE
A transfer student: (1) must submit official transcripts from all schools previously attended; (2) completed a minimum of 12 hours at one other institution of higher education with cumulative 2.5 GPA. Tuition assistance up to 16 semester hours per semester. Renewable if GPA exceeds 2.0 & if funds are available.
