The following scholarships are awarded on
a funds-available basis. Scholarships are listed in alphabetical order by
type. Application forms are available from the Financial Aid Office and from
area high school counselors. |

Awarded
for performance in activities such as baseball, softball, tennis,
cheerleading, music, drama, and others. Criteria are established by the coaches
and/or instructors of each activity. |

All
full-time students who have a GPA of 2.0 or better may apply. Scholarships
will be awarded for tuition based on financial need as long as funds are
available. |

JumpStart
Program Assistance |
|
||||
|
|
High
school students who have completed 15 units may receive assistance with a
properly completed scholarship application. Students attending Labette
County high schools are eligible to receive full tuition up to 16 hours
per semester if they have met the 2.5 GPA requirement. Cherokee County students
will receive up to 9 hours of paid tuition per semester, provided they meet
the 3.0 GPA requirement. |

Students attending high schools in other
Kansas counties may receive a scholarship of half tuition for up to 6
hours per semester with GPA of 3.50 or above. Attendance must be approved by a high school official. Fees and books
are not covered by LCC. |

High
school fall seniors may apply for a merit scholarship to be used the semester
following high school graduation. |

Applications received by April 1 receive priority consideration. Students must be enrolled fulltime (12 credit hours or more) by June 1 prior to the fall semester to validate the scholarship. Allied Health students should check with the appropriate director. |

(1) Submit application by April 1 of Freshman year. (2) Enroll for the fall semester of Sophomore year by May 1. (3) Maintain the required GPA. Scholarships will be renewed as long as funds are available. Fees are not covered by this scholarship. Students who withdraw to less than 12 credit hours will be ineligible for this scholarship for the following semester. |

Nontraditional Student Scholarships
|

||||
|
|
A nontraditional student is 25 years of age or older; has an educational objective of a degree, certificate, or employment training; and has not attended Labette Community College within the last three years. Nontraditional students who are not eligible for other college need-based scholarship programs may be awarded a scholarship not to exceed the amount of tuition for nine credit hours for two consecutive semesters. |

Students who enroll in fewer than 12 credit hours may apply for these scholarships, which are awarded based on need. |
