Labette Community College has partnered with Labette County High School, Baxter Springs High School and Columbus High School to offer you the opportunity to earn college credits and important health certificates while attending high school.

All credits earned will help you satisfy requirements in high school to begin college career health programs in areas such as: Nursing, Radiography, Respiratory Care, and Physical Therapy.

Courses offered in the Fall of 2010:

Anatomy & Physiology - 5 College Credit Hours
This course is completely online. It is transfers directly to Labette Community College Allied Health programs. This course will teach you all about the human body, its structure and its functions. Take this course to prepare you for the CNA program in the spring, or to jump-start your college health career.

 

 

 

CPR - 1/2 College Credit
Learn how to save a life with CPR training. This training is conducted at Labette County High School, Columbus High School and Baxter Springs High School with a certified CPR trainer, and is a  great class for anyone to take.

 

 

Courses offered in the Spring of 2011:

Certified Nursing Assistant - 6 College Credit Hours and preparation for a certification exam)
The CNA assists nurses and physicians and takes care of people with specific health needs. In this course, you will learn basic nursing procedures and provide bedside care. If you are interested in a nursing career, you must have a CNA certification before you may enter the Labette Community College Nursing program.

This is an eight-week hybrid course conducted online with on-site clinicals. Clinicals place you with the instructor in a nursing facility where you obtain hands on nursing assistant experience! You must be 16 years of age to enroll, and be sure to never miss the scheduled clinical times....you need them to be certified!
