Position Description

Labette Community College invites applications to occupy one (1) full-time Faculty position for our Exercise Science Department to begin in August 2024. This position is based at the main campus located in Parsons, KS.

The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of the discipline required to share in the teaching of post-secondary students. The faculty member will provide classroom instruction, advise students on class scheduling and academic progress; participate in curriculum revision; and complete program assessment.

The responsibilities also encompass serving on LCC committees, maintaining office hours, and other activities required or agreed upon between faculty members and administration as specified in the LCC Master Agreement and LCC Policy and Procedures Manual.

Required qualifications include a Master’s degree in the discipline (Sports, Kinesiology, Physical Education) or Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in the discipline. Ability to effectively work with faculty, students, and college staff. Ability to set priorities and use appropriate interpersonal skills, demonstrate knowledge of instructional software and education media, understand student learning and curriculum development, and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Four (4) day instructional class schedules. Excellent benefits such as vacation, sick leave, paid LCC tuition for employees and dependents, Kansas Public Employment Retirement System (KPERS), KPERS 457, 403B with matching plan, and the State Plan of Kansas insurances that includes medical, dental, and vision for employee and family. Supplemental insurance is also offered.

The salary range is based on education and experience as governed by the Master Agreement. This can be found at www.labette.edu/hr in the Policy and Procedures manual. This is a full-time, contract position. The position remains open until filled. Application review will begin April 15, 2024.
