The goal of the Communication program is to provide the opportunity for students to improve their communication ability and knowledge.
Our commitment to General Education helps develop students' oral communication, critical thinking skills and their appreciation for differences in communication styles.
Our courses are designed to fulfill major requirements for Associate Degree-seeking students. Throughout their education, students have opportunities for hands-on experience both in and out of the classroom.
Students can gain immediate, entry-level employment in Government and Social Services, Public Relations Agen- cies, Event Planning, Sales, etc. If already employed, obtain career advancement opportunities. Students can transfer to a university or college to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Communication.

Bio
I was born and raised in Neodesha, KS. I attended Pittsburg State University earning both my Bachelor of Arts and my Master of Arts in Communication.
My career in higher education began in 2000 and I cannot imagine doing anything else! I joined the team at Labette Community College in 2009 teaching full-time in the Communication Department. I teach public speaking, interpersonal communication, public relations and advertising.
My husband, Kevin, and I have five children; Bryce, Gage, and Taelyn Bell, and Peyton and Cooper Neises. Besides spending time with my crew, I enjoy running, tap dancing, spending time on the farm or at the lake, traveling, and being a lifelong learner.
