The Library offers after-hours access for LCC students and employees only. Currently-enrolled students and current employees must have a keycard and a current LCC ID card to have access to the Library after hours. Students and employees in possession of a keycard will have access to the computers, the printer, online databases, and study areas. There will not be any Library staff available after hours. If a student requires librarian assistance, the student can send an email via the Ask a Librarian link or come in during regular Library hours. The Library will be monitored via surveillance cameras, evening custodial staff, and during regular hours.

Applications for a keycard are available online on the Library Tab in Red Zone, in the Library, and in the IT Department in M100 on the first floor of the Main Building. Applicants will need their LCC ID and their driver’s license or other valid form of identification to complete the application process. Once approved, the applicant will be notified via LCC email account. Once the email is received, a patron may schedule a time to pick up their keycard in the IT Department in M100 on the first floor of the Main Building.

Keycard holders must present both the keycard and a valid LCC ID card when requested by a circulating LCC staff monitoring after-hours access. Any student or employee without a proper keycard and valid LCC ID card will not be allowed to stay in the LCC Library after hours. Violation of any of the procedures will lead to termination of access privileges. Access to the Library after hours is obtained by touching the key card to the key pad at the Library front entrance, waiting for the green light on the key pad, and opening the door.
