The Financial Aid Office at Labette Community College assists you in getting the maximum amount of aid you are eligible to receive.

Our programs include scholarships, Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Education Grants, Federal Workstudy, Direct Loans and Institutional Workstudy. Please look through the following links to find out just how easy it is to apply for Financial Aid.

Students can change their major during the fall semester until September 1st, during the spring semester until February 1st and during the summer until June 15th. After these dates, no major changes will be made during the remainder of each semester.

Important Financial Aid Dates

Follow these dates to ensure your aid will be ready when classes begin. You can track your financial aid file progress on the RedZone. In addition, it is your responsibility to check your LCC email for college correspondence.

Fall Semester
March 1st: Last day for graduating high school seniors to complete the online scholarship form for Academic and Foundation scholarships**.
April 1st: Suggested date to complete the FAFSA to get your file complete before classes begin.
July 1st: Must have your financial aid file complete to be eligible* to charge books for the Fall semester. Your file is complete when you receive an award letter.
End of 2nd Week of Classes: Must complete online scholarship form for preference for Fall semester**. Last day to drop for full refund and last day to change your major for the Fall semester.
1st Thursday in November: Last day to turn in all required forms and documents to complete financial aid file for Fall semester/Fall disbursement. Students requesting a loan must complete all three steps of the Direct Student Loan Process.
2nd Thursday in November: Last day to turn in appeal form and degree audit for the Fall semester/Fall disbursement. If the appeal form for Fall aid is not turned in today, you will not be eligible for federal financial aid for the Fall semester.
Spring Semester
December 15th: Must have your financial aid file complete to be eligible* to charge books for the Spring semester. Your file is complete when you receive an award letter.

*Eligibility to charge your books depends upon the amount of your award.
**Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis due to limited funds.

    • Students will receive email notification 2 days prior to disbursement.
    • Refund checks are available in the Business Office at 10:00 am on the day of disbursement.

    Degree Audit

    Students required to Appeal for Maximum Semesters must complete a Degree Audit. A copy of the Degree Audit must be signed by both the student and their advisor, then submitted to the Financial Aid Office. The Degree Audit can be completed by following the following steps:

    • Log into Student RedZone
    • From the menu on the left, click Enroll – Degree Students
    • Click Degree Audit Portal
    • View all Details (this may take a few seconds)
    • Click Advising Worksheet

    Print the worksheet, sign by both student and advisor, submit to the Financial Aid Office.
