Instructor of Physical Therapist Assistant Program

Labette Community College invites applications for one (1) full-time faculty position for the Physical Therapist Assistant program to begin before May 1st. This position is based at the Cherokee campus in Pittsburg, Kansas and operates on a full-time 11-month salary contract.

The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of the disciplines required to teach post-secondary students. The faculty member will provide classroom instruction, advise students on class scheduling and academic progress, participate in curriculum revision, and complete program assessment.

Responsibilities also include traveling to clinical sites, maintaining office hours, and fulfilling other duties required or agreed upon in the LCC Master Agreement and LCC Policy and Procedures Manual.

Required qualifications include an active, unrestricted PT license or PTA license in Kansas; three years post-licensure clinical practice, including two years of experience as a site coordinator of clinical education or clinical instructor in a clinical practice, or two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a PT/A education program. The ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and college staff; the ability to set priorities and use appropriate interpersonal skills; knowledge of instructional software and education media; an understanding of student learning and curriculum development; and excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required.

Supplemental insurance is also offered.
