Payment Authorization Form

Purpose

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF III) has been created to assist students with covering any component of the student’s cost of attendance (COA); or emergency costs that arise due to Coronavirus, such as but not limited to tuition, food, housing, health care, mental health care, or child care. Labette Community College is required to prioritize grants to students demonstrating exceptional financial need.

Eligible students

Students Currently Enrolled for Credit at Labette Community College.

Frequency of Payments

One-time payments will be made to the students that qualify. Tentative dates:

  • August 9, 2021 - $14,605 Disbursed to 104 students
  • December 8, 2021
  • May 11, 2022

Funds will continue to be disbursed until all funds have been depleted. Labette Community College can make adjustments to this plan as seen needed to benefit students that have been impacted by the disruptions of campus operations do to coronavirus.

Labette Community College signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used, or intends to use, the applicable amount of funds designated under the CRRSAA (HEERF II) and ARP (HEERF III) (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

Labette Community College will receive a total of $3,485,232 of APR Funds. The amount designated to provide Emergency Financial Aid grants to students is $1,728,500. As of August 9, 2021, $14,605 ARP (HEERF III) Student funds have been disbursed to 103 Labette Community College students. Labette Community College estimates to serve around 2000 students with the Emergency relief funds.

How HEERF Grants will be calculated based on the following information

The maximum amount HEERF III Grant a student can receive is $1,200 per semester.

Fall 2021 HEERF III awards are based on enrollment status as of October 25, 2021.

Spring 2022 HEERF III awards are based on enrollment status as of April 1, 2022.

Spring 2023 HEERF III awards are awarded to students that received a Pell grant in the Spring 2023 semester with the highest unmet need based on the student’s enrollment status as of 4/5/2023.
