23rd Annual LCC Foundation Auction for Scholarships

March 25, 2022

The Labette Community College (LCC) Foundation and Alumni Association will be hosting the 23rd annual Auction for Scholarships on Saturday, April 30 as an in-person event.  This year’s auction, “Sun, Sand & Scholarships” will feature live and silent auction items, dinner, cash drawings and more. The auction is the main fundraising event for student scholarships and gives individuals and businesses the opportunity to contribute to the college.

In addition to the in-person auction on April 30, the Foundation will host an on-line auction from April 22-May 1. “A new element to our in-person auction, will be the on-line portion. The on-line bidding will allow our friends of the college to support our students that may not be able to attend in-person,” said LCC Executive Director, Lindi Forbes.

LCC President, Dr. Mark Watkins, and Foundation Director, Lindi Forbes, are seeking support for this event that helps all students to reach their educational goals.  “The auction for scholarships, is the largest annual fundraising effort for student scholarships,” said Forbes. “The foundation is still accepting donations and sponsorships for the fun event. All funds raised will directly support students in the next academic year.”

In past, the auction was held in-person at the Parsons VFW with over 200 attendees and raised around $50,000 for scholarships, with the exception of the last two years being held on-line due to COVID-19.

There are six sponsorship options available, starting at a Friend donation of $50 to a Diamond donation of $500. Donations of items or services are also sought for the live and silent auction. Individuals and businesses wishing to learn more about how to make a donation, sponsorship or advertise should contact Lindi Forbes by calling (620)-820-1212.
