Labette Community College (LCC) is thrilled to announce unprecedented growth in student interest and engagement in its Fall 2023 recruiting figures. Under the leadership of Tyler Allen, Director of Admissions, the admissions team has seen a significant increase in student connections reflecting a robust 66% growth compared to the previous year.

In Fall 2023, the admissions department connected with a total of 1,828 students from 49 schools across five states—Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Texas and Oklahoma—marking a significant upturn from the 1,096 students in Fall 2022. This surge represents a substantial increase of 732 students, affirming a strong 40% rise in student connections.

In addition, the admissions department has experienced a remarkable surge in student contacts at Kansas college fairs, with an average increase of 118% at the same events previously attended. This surge reflects the growing interest and engagement from prospective students throughout the state. Through active participation and outreach efforts, LCC continues to connect with a broader audience, showcasing the diverse academic opportunities and vibrant community awaiting future Cardinals.

On an individual level, LCC conducted 60 individual campus tours from August to December 2023, welcoming students from 38 cities spanning four states: Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas. This figure demonstrates a notable increase from the previous year, with a 140% rise in campus tours and engagement.

"I'm incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication our admissions team has put into increasing student contacts here at Labette Community College,” Allen said. “We are seeing tremendous growth, and it's a testament to the amazing things happening at LCC.”

LCC invites prospective students to two upcoming events designed to showcase the diverse academic opportunities available at the college. Health Science Day, scheduled for March 26th from 10am to 1pm, will offer insights into programs such as Nursing, Respiratory Care, Radiography, and Sonography. Meanwhile, Tech Visit Day, set for April 10th from 9am to 11am, will focus on Technical Programs including Welding, and Graphic Design Technology.

“As we continue to strive for excellence, I’d like to invite all future Cardinals to join us at one of our remaining spring visit days or to schedule a personalized campus tour,” commented Allen. “It's a fantastic opportunity to experience firsthand the endless possibilities that await you at LCC."

Prospective students are encouraged to register for these events on the LCC Admissions Events page labette.edu/admissions/events at or by contacting the Admissions Department, at 620-420-6700 x1264 or by emailing admissions@labette.edu.
