Parsons, KS - In collaboration with Labette Community College Student Life and Cardinal Villas, students from the LCC Public Relations class are hosting a week-long event to raise awareness and much-needed access to feminine hygiene products for college females.

Individuals are invited to make a cash donation or drop-off feminine hygiene products at the LCC Student Lounge from April 15-18. This campaign will benefit female LCC students by providing access to free feminine hygiene products in location throughout the LCC Campus and the Cardinal Villas.

According to a 2022 Journal of Global Health Reports study, “resources are lacking. It found that 14.2% of college students who menstruate could not afford tampons or pads over a year. Of those surveyed, 10% of menstruating college students experienced this monthly.” It is estimated to cost a university approximately $60,000 to $70,000 to install feminine product dispensers, along with the feminine products and different pads and tampons.
