Message from Dr. Mark Watkins, President of Labette Community College

Dear Friends and Members of the LCC Community,
After much reflection, I wish to share that I will be retiring as President of Labette Community College in July 2026.
Since joining LCC in 2012 as Dean of Instruction, and later serving as President beginning in 2017, my family and I have been deeply blessed to call this community home. It has been one of the greatest honors of my career to serve alongside such dedicated faculty, staff, students, and community partners who believe so strongly in the mission of Labette Community College.
We are profoundly grateful for the generosity, support, and spirit that define this college and the community it serves. I have every confidence that LCC’s future is bright, filled with new opportunities and continued growth in the years ahead.
As we begin this transition, I remain fully committed to ensuring a smooth and seamless process for the next chapter of leadership at LCC. It has been a privilege to serve, and I thank you all for your trust, friendship, and partnership throughout my time here.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Dr. Mark Watkins
President, Labette Community College
