LCC Foundation & Alumni Association Seeks Nominations for 3rd Annual Cardinal Generational Family
July 31, 2025 |

The Labette Community College Foundation & Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Cardinal Generational Family, an honor that celebrates families with a longstanding legacy of connection and contribution to Labette Community College.
This recognition is part of a tradition that began in 2024 during LCC’s centennial year. Each year, the Cardinal Generational Family designation honors one family whose members have made a lasting impact on the college through multiple generations of attendance, service, and support. Previous honorees include the Corky and Alice Beachner Family in 2024 and the Gary and Shirley Wall Family in 2025.
To be eligible, a nominated family must meet the following qualifications:
- At least one member must be a graduate of Labette Community College
- The family must include three or more relatives—either immediate or extended—who have attended or graduated from LCC, or who have served the college as staff, faculty, board members, or volunteers.
Full nomination details and submission forms are available at: www.labette.edu/foundation/family
Nominations should be received by September 1, 2025, to be considered for this year. Nominations may be carried over for consideration in future years.
The selected family will be recognized at a home athletic event during the Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 academic year and will be added to the Gallery of Cardinal Generational Families located inside the Zetmeir Family Athletic Complex.
“The Cardinal Generational Family award is a meaningful way to celebrate the deep connections so many families have with Labette Community College,” said Lindi Forbes, Executive Director of the LCC Foundation & Alumni Association. “These families exemplify our tradition of excellence, community engagement, and multigenerational commitment to education.”
