Liz Darling Exhibit

Exhibition Dates: March 2 – April 17
Opening Reception: Thursday, March 5 at 5:00 PM
Location: LCC Hendershot Art Gallery
Admission: Free and open to the public

The LCC Hendershot Art Gallery will host Permeabilities, a solo exhibition by Pittsburg, Kansas–based artist Liz Darling, from March 2 through April 17. An opening reception will take place on Thursday, March 5 at 5:00 PM, with refreshments available. The public is encouraged to attend.

Darling’s work is rooted in experimentation and close attention to process. Working across media, she creates imagery that is both emotionally symbolic and visually entrancing. Her pieces explore what happens when boundaries begin to soften—between the body and the natural world, between what we can see and what we sense but can’t quite name.

In Permeabilities, she continues her exploration of in-between spaces and shifting forms. Through layered materials and intuitive mark-making, Darling builds landscapes that suggest exchanges between inner and outer worlds. The exhibition reflects her interest in permeability not just as a physical condition, but as a way of thinking about emotional, ecological, and spiritual connection.

Based in Pittsburg, Kansas, Darling has developed a studio practice that balances careful craftsmanship with openness to discovery. Each work evolves through its making, leaving visible traces of the decisions, revisions, and moments of surrender that shaped it.

Visitors are invited to meet the artist at the March 5 reception and experience Permeabilities in person. Both the exhibition and reception are free and open to the community.
