Labette Community College FBLA Students Qualify for National Competition

Parsons, KS — Students from the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Collegiate chapter at Labette Community College recently competed at the Kansas State Leadership Conference held at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. LCC students competed against teams from six two- and four-year colleges across the state and brought home several top finishes.

“I am so excited to see my students take classroom knowledge and turn it into successes that will benefit them and their communities long after they leave the classroom,” said Cathy Kibler, Professor of Accounting and Business Administration and FBLA Collegiate adviser. “Honestly, it’s the best part of the job!”

In addition to competing, students attended workshops, heard from guest speakers, and participated in the election of the 2026–2027 Kansas FBLA state officers. Lexi Howard and Roxie Howard also served as Labette’s voting delegates during the conference.

Students who placed in qualifying events will now represent Labette Community College at the FBLA Collegiate National Leadership Conference in Las Vegas this summer. The college is proud of the group’s accomplishments and looks forward to seeing them represent Labette on the national stage.
