Labette Community College Signs Articulation Agreement with Central Methodist University

PARSONS —Labette Community College and Central Methodist University, in Fayette, Mo., are formally announcing the signing of an articulation agreement creating a seamless transfer pathway for LCC students earning their associate degrees.
This new partnership facilitates access for students who want to seek bachelor’s and master’s degrees. All credits earned in the exercise science program at Labette Community College will now transfer directly toward an expedited bachelor’s degree program at Central Methodist.
This transfer agreement allows qualifying students to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in one year. Then, if students wish, they can enter the master’s degree program in Athletic Training, earning two degrees in three years.
Maximizing transferable credits from LCC lowers overall tuition expenses for post-secondary education and allows students to enter graduate education more quickly to receive advanced professional training or specialized credentials.
"Central Methodist University is thrilled to build upon our relationship with Labette Community College to deliver meaningful, streamlined educational pathways for students. The Exercise Science to Athletic Training accelerated track is a powerful example of how our institutions can collaborate to save students time and tuition while delivering exceptional educational programming,” Central Methodist University Provost Dr. Rita Gulstad said.
During their visit to the LCC campus Tuesday, CMU administrators toured the campus and met with LCC administrators to discuss potential articulation agreements for other programs.
“Labette Community College is happy to work with university partners to identify additional higher educational pathways for students,” said LCC Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. John Gillette. “I have been very pleased to discover so many willing partners who share our vison for promoting professional development and degree attainment opportunities throughout the region. LCC will continue to collaborate with these partners to afford every opportunity for our students to matriculate into a growing number of career options through a variety of programs of study.”
